How it all began...well, that was a very long time ago...

Annie's Yoga Journey

Let me give you a little background about how I came to yoga. My journey started a long time ago. I first came to practicing elements of yoga & meditation when I was 11 years old through martial arts. I was young, flexible & strong & I'll be honest, making 'yogic shapes' with my body wasn't hard back then, but over time & into my teens, I learnt that yoga was much more than just that, there was the breath, the intention & the mind to consider too. I soon came to understand the calming qualities & benefits that yoga, in its fuller expression, brought to my life & wanted to find out more. Those early days were what set my course for a life-long path of learning & discovery.
It's taken many years of personal yoga practice, experiencing different styles, teachers & aspects of yogic tradition for me to feel ready to take the leap to being a yoga instructor. Not because I couldn't have done it sooner, but that I am so grateful of what the years in-between have shown me, they've allowed me to arrive at what is now a more embodied, compassionate & trauma aware practice. It leaves me feeling full of gratitude to all who have had a hand in guiding my path in this ancient & yet ever evolving tradition.
I look forward to being able to share my learnings with you & to join you on your yoga journey.
